We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations and reporting.Position Summary:The Senior accountant will be responsible for preparing financial reports, managing profit and loss statements, overseeing tax liabilities, maintaining accurate records of assets, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles.Key Responsibilities:Financial Reporting:Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.Profit and Loss Statements:Prepare and analyze profit and loss (P&L) statements.Identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.Provide insights and recommendations to management based on P&L analysis.Tax Compliance:Calculate and manage tax liabilities, including federal, state, and local taxes.Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns.Assist in tax planning and strategy development.Asset Management:Maintain accurate records of company assets.Conduct regular audits to verify the existence and condition of assets.Ensure proper depreciation and amortization of assets.GAAP Compliance:Ensure all accounting practices and financial reporting comply with GAAP.Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations.Implement new accounting policies and procedures as needed.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.CPA certification preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting and tax compliance.In-depth knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Office, particularly Excel.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Interested in hearing more?
