Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Development Director to drive the strategic roadmap for our Adams Tax Software Platform. The Software Development Director will play a pivotal role in the development, implementation, enhancement, and management of our suite of tax software solutions. As the driving force behind the success of our tax software products, the Software Development Director will be responsible for defining product strategy, overseeing product development, and ensuring alignment with market demands and customer needs. The primary objective will be to create a user-friendly experience that simplifies the tax preparation process for our business customers while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. There is a great opportunity for growth. Key Responsibilities: 1. Product Strategy Development: Develop and articulate a comprehensive product strategy for the tax software product line, including defining product vision, goals, and roadmap for growth. 2. Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs within the tax software industry. 3. Product Planning and Prioritization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software developers, creative designers, and content managers to prioritize product features, define product requirements, drive the product roadmap, and make enhancements based on strategic objectives, customer feedback, and market opportunities within timelines. 4. Product Development: Work closely with and manage the third-party software development team to oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept ideation, platform testing, and product launch to ongoing enhancements, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software solutions. 5. Stakeholder Management: Communicate product vision, strategy, and progress to key stakeholders, including executive leadership, customer service, IT team, software development team, customers, sales, and marketing teams. 6. Product Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze product performance metrics, user feedback, and market dynamics to identify areas for product improvement and optimization. 7. Product Marketing Support: Collaborate with marketing teams to develop effective go-to-market strategies, product messaging, and promotional campaigns to drive product adoption, retention, and revenue growth. 8. Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of tax regulations, industry best practices, and compliance requirements to ensure that the tax software products are up-to-date and compliant with relevant laws and regulations. Identify necessary external support to maintain tax compliance. 9. Customer Engagement: Foster strong relationships with key customers and solicit feedback to understand their evolving needs and pain points, leveraging customer insights to inform product decisions and enhance our user engagement. Work closely with customer service teams to ensure the support needed for the product. 10. Team Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to product development teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. 11. Subject Matter Expert: Act as a subject matter expert on software-related matters, providing guidance and support to internal teams and external customers, as needed. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, Management Science, or Accounting; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (5-10 years) in software product management roles, with a track record of successfully launching and managing software applications.
  • Strong technical background and understanding of software development methodologies, APIs, and architectures.
  • Experience going through a full product lifecycle, integrating customer feedback into product requirements, driving prioritization, and pre/post-launch execution.
  • Experience working in a technical environment with a broad, cross-functional team to drive product vision, define product requirements, coordinate resources from other groups (design, legal, etc.), and guide the team through key milestones.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data and insights into actionable product strategies and decisions.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
