About The Role
We are seeking an Associate-level investment professional to be responsible for identifying and underwriting new investments, monitoring existing positions, as well as broader fund performance reports. This position will report into US Private Capital leadership and partner with other professionals within the organization. Candidates should have a background in credit investing with the research and modeling skills to underwrite and monitor existing investments. Critical to the individual's success will be their investment judgment, ability to work constructively with investment partners, willingness to take initiative, resourcefulness and intellectual curiosity.
Job Responsibilities

• 
  
• Research industries, companies and create detailed financial models to highlight relevant metrics to be used in the investment decision making process
  
• Produce quality analysis of company and diligence information to support investment conclusions
  
• Develop accurate, flexible financial models / scenario analysis
  
• Preparation of concise, accurate and complete investment memoranda
  
• Actively monitor portfolio existing portfolio names
  
  Requirements / Qualifications
  
  • 
    
  • Undergraduate degree with strong academic background
    
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, direct lending, or private debt investing
    
  • Superior analytical, thinking, and communication (oral and written) skills
    
  • Candidates must be comfortable participating in diligence meetings with senior management; portfolio companies, sponsors and other investment professionals
    
  • Motivated, self-starter that seeks problem solving situations
    
  • Must be able to work in team-oriented environment and show ability to quickly climb learning curve
    
    For California and New York City only the salary range for this position is $115,000 - $180,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
